Nigeria’s legendary Burna Boy wins Best International Act at the BET Awards, a win for the Nigerian entertainment Industry. He beat Innoss’B of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Sho Madjozi of South Africa, Dave of the United Kingdom, Stormzy of the United Kingdom, and Ninho of France, S.Pri Noir of France to bag this award.
Also winning the BET HER Award is Beyoncé ft. Blue Ivy, WizKid & Saint Jhn, with the song “Brown Skin Girl”. This is a win for Nigeria and Africa as Nigeria’s star boy Wizkid starred in this song. They beat Alicia Keys, “Underdog”, Ciara ft. Lupita Nyong’o, Ester Dean, City Girls & La La, “Melanin”, Layton Greene, “I Choose”, Lizzo ft. Missy Elliott, “Tempo”, and Rhapsody ft. PJ Morgan, “Afeni” to win this award.
Africa was not left out as SHA SHA of Zimbabwe beat Nigerian born Rema, Celeste of the United Kingdom, Young T & Bugsey of the United Kingdom, Hatik of France, and Stacy of France, to win the Best International Act Viewer’s Choice.
It was a virtual event.
